THE DAO PRIZE

The Dao Prize, funded by the Dao Feng and Angela Foundation and launched in 2023 in conjunction with Young America’s Foundation’s National Journalism Center (NJC), is an annual award recognizing excellence in investigative journalism in the United States.

It is available to all American media outlets, including print, broadcast, podcast, and Substack, etc. Now the Dao Prize has 6 awards and a total prize pool of $170,000.

In the summer of 2022, inspired by YAF’s NJC awarding outstanding alumni journalists, Dao Feng and Angela Foundation’s founder, Mr. Dao Feng He, suggested to the YAF and NJC teams the establishment of a larger honors award targeting the entire U.S. investigative journalism industry, aimed at rekindling American journalists’ courage and professional spirit as “uncrowned kings” in the pursuit of truth.

In 2023, the Dao Feng and Angela Foundation committed to providing a 10-year grant of at least $300,000 per year to honor truth-seeking investigative journalists. The Bedrock Foundation joined as a co-funding partner in 2024.

From 2024 to 2025, the Bedrock Foundation donated $90,000 to the Dao Prize.
